To use Cordia's VoIP service you will need the following:

An analog touchtone telephone. Any corded or cordless telephone you currently use should work. A cordless telephone provides the advantage of having multiple handsets you can place wherever you want to make calls. Make sure your telephone is equipped with a Caller ID display if you want to take advantage of the Caller ID feature.

A VoIP Telephone Adapter that connects your telephone to your router and then to your DSL/Cable modem. This device changes voice signals to data packets so they can be sent out over the Internet. Cordia will ship you a kit that contains this device and cables when you sign up for the service.

An active broadband Internet connection: You can use either DSL or cable modem.

A Router. If you have more than one device in your household that requires Internet Access, you will need to purchase a router. Cordia recommends you purchase a DSL/Cable web-safe router that provides NAT (Network address Translation) and DHCP for your network. We do not recommend a specific brand, but top home networking router manufacturers include Linksys, DLink, NetGear and TRENDware. Download and install your router's latest firmware from the manufacturer's web site if you have an older model router. NOTE: If you are using a DSL connection for Internet access, your router should be configured for PPPoE. Some cable modem services require that the MAC address of your computer be input in the router configuration.
